So, where does the Transformative Mentoring approach come from?
The Transformative Coaching approach comes from insights Sydney Banks had in 1973. Syd was an uneducated Scottish welder who experienced a profound spiritual revelation. This led to the discovery of the Three Principles. In the years that followed Syd became a respected philosopher and author, who dedicated his life to relieving human suffering. His work has impacted thousands of people and evoked an evolution in the field of psychology. Syd passed away in 2009.
Transformative Coaching is also referred to as “3 Principles based coaching”. These videos and links provide more details of Transformative Coaching / 3 Principles.
At BackMentorMe we have renamed the Transformative Coaching approach “Transformative MENTORING” as we feel this is more descriptive of the types of conversations we have with our clients. A “coach” is often thought of as someone who tells the client what to do. A “mentor”, on the other hand, is there to act as a catalyst enabling you to see the answers for yourself.
